Joseph scored his third All Honours (one falling memorably at the 2023 Twickenham Spring Tournament) and incredibly, just like the other yakuman on this day, this also occurred on the last draw!

Rose told me she tried desperately hard to keep her cool all the way through this game before finally picking up her yakuman on the final draw!

Our most popular event yet saw 27 people at the Watershed, with many learning riichi from scratch or playing over the table for the first time!

We’ve heard from lots of new players via Facebook, Discord and email looking for an introduction to riichi mahjong, so the next meetup is just that!

After the vote passed at the AGM, we have applied for affiliation with the UK Mahjong Association, and I’m pleased to report that today our request was accepted!

We had an amazing 24 attendees at the Watershed, and 5 tables going from the start right through until after lunch! Last hanchan finished at 8pm and I know at least one person managed 6 hanchan over the day 😮 Thanks to all attendees!
